The word "blog" is short for Web Log. It is basically a series of posts in reverse chronological order posted by a website owner. A Blog can be treated like a diary, a news feed, a place for ‘how-to’ articles or simple thoughts and discussions.

Getting to know the Blog feature

Take the first steps towards writing your own professional blog

It’s likely you will use it to communicate with your website visitors about your website topic. You may wish to tell visitors about your day-to-day life or use your Blog for brand advertising. However you choose to use your Blog, it’s really important to make it stand out.

With over 150 million Blogs online today, visitors returning to a site want new and fresh content and a Blog is the perfect way to bring it to them and will make a great asset to your website. So, take time with your posts, make sure they appeal to your visitors and include unique content.

Within a blog post you can link to websites, other blogs or your own webpages. It is generally considered good form to link to a website or a piece of content on the web, as oppose to copying and pasting it onto your blog - however short quotes are fine.

You have full control over posts and you are able to draft them first before posting.  Even when they are published you can easily take them down or edit them, but as a general rule if you’re writing about your business, stay professional. If it’s a personal blog, keep it fun and keep in mind that anyone online can read it!
