How did Kiwanis get started?

Over 100 years ago, Kiwanis was created as a worldwide service organization for individuals desiring personal involvement in the leadership and improvement of their communities.
It has since grown to about 9000 clubs in over 80 countries.

Well over 300,000 Kiwanians from every culture and every continent are helping improve people's lives.
As a group, we can achieve what individuals cannot
do alone.  Thus, our motto and the cornerstone of Kiwanis is:

We Build.

We Build.
